The Feather B Team
Heather
Meet our fearless leader, Heather! She is a skilled sewist, muralist, and all-around crafty creator. She’s been operating the Feather B business for nearly a decade now.
Heather has been sewing (or at least attempting to) since about age 8. Her love of animals, art, and sewing all came together to create this business all on her own. She has a good eye for creating products that will be whimsical and aesthetically pleasing.
She started out with a market event at the old Bluebird Arthouse (RIP) and fell in love with the combination of craft making and meeting happy customers in-person. She is happy to chat and share about her work, so whenever you see her out in the wild, be sure to wave her down for a conversation!
Feather is so incredibly thankful for this business and all of the people who have supported it over the years. She is optimistic about the future and ready to keep up the hustle!
Adam
Adam is Mr. Feather B, the thread keeping this whole operation together. He uses a decade of management experience to offer up a little dose of reality alongside his enthusiastic support. This guy is a pro with a spreadsheet and finds actual joy in tracking every part of this business.
Adam has great instincts for products and sales that will undoubtedly continue the Feather B momentum. In a pinch, he will jump right in to help stuff, tag, or deliver Feather B friends (although we don’t let him near any fabric with scissors).
Mr. Feather also serves the very important role as “the muscle”. You’d be surprised how much we have to move and rearrange things in the studio (mostly when Mrs. Feather has a very specific vision for social media photos). And, of course, weekly markets keep us constantly loading and unloading tents, tables, and product.
Basically, Adam is the best support our team could ask for: encouraging, eager to help, and 100% grounded in reality. No matter what is happening you can always count on Adam to make sense of things and look good doing it!
Chelsa
Chelsa is just the best! She has been working behind the scenes with Feather since 2018. Every week, she spends hours and hours in the studio, just crafting away.
Chelsa has been an invaluable part of Feather B since she started. She does a fantastic job cutting, sewing, stuffing, tagging, and more! Also, she’s pretty great at making playlists, which as we all know, is the most important ingredient for a good work flow.
As a part time student (mechanical engineering, WHAT?!), we know we won’t be able to keep her forever, but for now we continue to absorb her silly energy and hilariously cynical observations. Productive, fun energy is so important to a creative business and that is exactly what Chelsa has to offer. We are so lucky to have her!
Belinda
Every sewing circle needs a grandma, right? Belinda, aka Bita, fills that position beautifully. She is a sewist extraordinaire with years and years (and years) of sewing experience. Before working on Feather B projects, her specialty was 90’s Christmas dresses. You know the ones - red plaid, puffy sleeves, bib collar. Yeah, those. She is a master of fiber arts and a master gardener too!
Belinda’s role now in Feather B is with finishing touches on our babies and as an outgoing market helper! She is sweet and knowledgeable, so if you see her at the market, be sure to say hello!
Ultimately, the birth of Feather B can be attributed to Belinda. She taught Feather how to sew from a young age and really encouraged her to improve on her technical skills. When Feather was more interested in creativity than actually doing things correctly, Belinda gave her the space to create some really spectacular failures before offering up advice. Feather super lucked out to have such a crafty, patient mama.
Sam
Sam is another friendly (so friendly!) face of Feather B. You can see him paired up with Adam at weekend markets. He’s not usually a morning person, but makes an exception for the fun crowds at the Old Town market!
Sammy has been a friend of Mr. and Mrs. Feather since they were all just a bunch of nerdy kids! We all love having him around; he plays the ever important role of hype train. We have been happy to spend even more time with him since he started helping out with Feather B in 2021.
Sam’s other skills include being better at the internet than everyone else around here and writing. He put together the website here and helps out with social media posts and item descriptions.
We are just crazy about Sam and know you will be too! Find him at a market and say hello. This tall dude with the great beard is just the most fun to be around.
